Hello and welcome to my website.

I’m Elisabeth Parker, freelance writer, author and journalist.

I love true stories, intimate details and farfetched ideas. I have interviewed famous people and infamous people and those who live in the shadows. I have shared hundreds of their stories in newspapers and magazines. My Bachelor’s degree is from USF’s school of Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism-Magazine. I worked as a staff writer at the Tampa Bay Times for 12 years, scraping out time for my favorite topics which fell into the category of human interest.

Humans are complicated and complications arise because of conflict, which is precisely the type of stories I’m drawn to. I believe the best stories allow space for multiple truths. These stories, I believe, affect the mind and the emotions.

I come from a nonfiction discipline, but I yearn for fiction as I am certain nothing has ever stirred me more than a good book. I have returned to USF in the MFA program to write a novel or three.
